Every piece of jewelry that comes across our counter is examined by a certified jeweler or a staff member trained specifically for it. That matters because gold, coins, rings and other jewelry aren't one-size-fits-all items. The value depends on details a casual glance won't catch, and having someone who actually knows what they're looking at makes the difference between a rough guess and a real number you can trust.

Testing That Doesn't Damage Your Piece

We use Thermal Scientific Technology to test gold and jewelry. It's a method that tells us what we need to know about the metal without leaving a mark, a scratch or an acid burn on your piece. You get an honest answer on purity, and your ring, chain or bracelet comes back looking exactly like it did when you handed it over. Nobody wants to sell a family piece and see it come back scarred from the testing process, so we don't do it that way.

A lot of people assume a broken clasp or a missing stone means a piece isn't worth bringing in. That's not how we look at it. Damaged jewelry, coins, rings and pieces missing a stone still get evaluated, and it usually only takes a few minutes to get you an answer. If you've got a drawer of tangled chains or a ring with a stone that fell out years ago, it's worth bringing in rather than letting it sit.

Once a piece is in our hands, we also offer cleaning and sizing. If you're not ready to sell but want your jewelry looked after or fitted properly, that's part of what we do at the counter, not a separate errand you have to run across town. A ring that no longer fits or a chain that's lost its shine doesn't need a jeweler on the other side of the county when we can handle it here.

Two rings that look almost identical can be worth very different amounts, and that comes down to details most people never think to check. Karat weight tells you how much of the piece is actually gold versus other metal mixed in.
